The Kumbh Mela is the most important pilgrimage in the world, which, every twelve years, brings together more than 100 million Hindus who come to India to bath in the sacred waters of the Ganges, at the confluence of three rivers.
Pan Nalin recorded the event and recounts different, profoundly moving stories, all linked by the same faith: a young vagabond, a Sadhu, a desperate mother trying to find her young son who has disappeared, a Yogi who is raising an abandoned baby, and a cannabis smoking ascetic.
Exceptional because of their personalities and faith, all these men and women are confronted by an inextricable dilemma: should they live in this world or become exiles.
