Synopsis
Marseilles 1957: the city takes in numerous refugies from the Mediterranean region. Jeanne is among the Spanish émigrés who fled Franco’s regime at the end of the thirties. She’s married, has a little daughter, works at a soap factory and leads a quiet life.
But one day, Jeanne is asked to distribute pamphlets at the factory where many Algerians also work. She accepts, and her action slowly develops into a commitment.
She then encounters Ali Redjala. A National Liberation Front activist, he initiates her into the group and gives her new tasks to do. Jeanne’s increasing involvement in the conflict brings her into closer contact with Ali. Both are unsettled by this relationship.
