Police lieutenant Hubert, a big-hearted cop who sometimes resorts to laying on the muscle, finds himself on enforced leave after beating up the chief of police’s son. One day he gets a phone call from a lawyer telling him that Miko, the woman he’s always loved and who’d disappeared some 20 years before, has recently died in strange circumstances.
