When poverty drives her to prostitution and she gets mixed up in a ganland shoot-out, she is deported from Mexico. On the first day, Agustin gave us the master key which opened every door. About Gloria's quest for dignity in the film, all I had to grasp was the obvious truth (...) that poor people are not junkies or delinquents but princes who have to reconquer their kingdoms. (...) I haven't forgotten where I came from. I've been poor for half my life and rich for other half. (...) Being poor is violent in every sense : mental, physical and financial.
