“Monsieur Ibrahim et les Fleurs du Coran” draws crowds in Spain

Released July 30 by Wanda Films on 33 prints, the film by François Dupeyron has already attracted over 120,000 spectators in Spain.

The presence of Omar Sharif in Madrid for the film’s release generated extensive media coverage for the film. After four weeks on Spanish screens, “Monsieur Ibrahim et les Fleurs du Coran” is holding strong, with 40 prints in circulation and bolstered by good worth of mouth, which should propel the film towards breaking the 200,000 admissions barrier.
The film already ranks in number 2 position in our annual charts for French-language films, and hopes are high that the second half of the year will prove more prosperous than the first for French fare in the Iberian peninsula.
