In the lead-up to the Golden Globes, film critics in Los Angeles and Boston have announced their award winners. Love and Holy Motors did not go home empty-handed.
The Los Angeles Film Critics Association, which comprises around sixty journalists, has presented its annual awards. Love by Michael Haneke was hailed Best Film of the Year, while Holy Motors by Leos Carax was voted Best Foreign-Language Film.
Emmanuelle Riva, lead actress of Love, picked up Best Actress honors from critics in Los Angeles and Boston. Boston critics, like those in New York, also presented Love, this year's Cannes Palme d'Or winner, with the award for Best Foreign Film.
These awards bode well for Love's chances at the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.
