The 2011 Unifrance Short Film Award will be announced this evening at Club Unifrance at Cannes.
The Grand Prize will be awarded to Catharsis by Cédric Prévost, which was produced by Charles Paviot for Arts Premiers in partnership with Transpamedia, with support from L'ADAMI. The film will be broadcast on RTI, RTP2 Onda Curta, and SBS networks. This 18-minute comedy recounts the tale of an aspiring director haunted by his unfulfilled desire to make a film who wakes up one day trapped inside a film being made. A victim of his own obsession, he searches for a way to return to reality.
The Special Prize will be presented to Tout le monde dit que je t'aime by Cécile Ducrocq, which was produced by Stéphane Demoustier for Année Zéro. This film will also be broadcast on RTI, RTP2 Onda Curta, and SBS.
The jury met on May 2 in Paris to vote on the 14 films presented to television buyers. This year's jury members were Ludovica Fonda (RTI Italy), Marie Stroud (SBS Australia), and João Garção Borges (RTP2 Onda Curta Portugal).
