The 35th Sunny Side of the Doc, the international documentary market, took place in La Rochelle from June 24 to 27, 2024. In 2023, the event brought together 2,000 professionals, over 300 international decision-makers, and 1,000 companies from 70 countries around the world.
The program included panels, workshops, pitch sessions, and networking activities, all of which helped to highlight key trends in the documentary creation sector, and to encourage networking opportunities, project development, and international co-productions. For the first time, four keynotes by documentary professionals will also be on offer.
The 2024 edition was devoted to reflections on the future of the documentary ecosystem, as well as the genre itself. In an industry undergoing constant transformation, now marked by the arrival of artificial intelligence, it is pertinent to pay particular attention to the latest developments at work in the documentary genre, in its financing, as well as in its formats, which are renewing themselves to offer innovative forms of storytelling, captivating ever more diverse audiences.
Unifrance welcomed 15 member companies to its stand (B4) and, in partnership with Sodec and Wallonie-Bruxelles Images (WBI), host a cocktail reception to celebrate French-language creation from the three countries (France, Canada, Belgium) on Tuesday, June 25 at 6.00pm.
