In 2024, and for the third year running, the partnership between Unifrance and Match Me!, renewed on the occasion of the Locarno Film Festival, proposes to support three young producers, who will come to present their first feature film project.
The aim of the program is to strengthen relationships and common interests, find co-producers, distributors, and festivals, and consolidate producers' international visibility.
The three French production companies selected for the 2024 edition are:
Wrong Films
Producer: Mathilde Warisse
Project: Thaoura by David Arslanian
Collective Cinema
Producer: Solal Coutard
Project: A Paradise Lost by Kim Lêa Sakkal
Malfamé
Producer: Walid Bekhti
Project: Bouzaron by Vincent Fontano, co-produced with Insolence Productions
Project: Edens by Manon Vila
For the record, during the 2022 edition of the same program, producer Thomas Hakim (Petit Chaos) drew attention with Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia's feature film project, All We Imagine as Light. Since then, the film premiered in Competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2024, where it won the Grand Prix!
Unifrance's support for emerging productions is part of its commitment to helping Unifrance members make the transition from short to feature films.
A Unifrance delegation will also be on hand to support professionals and talent on site.
