Benoît Jacquot will be in New York as the special guest of the School of Visual Arts (SVA) throughout the month of November 2007.
Following his stint as a guest of the DFFB Film School in Berlin in June, the French director clearly found his experience with the On Set with French Cinema program a positive one, having now accepted the SVA’s invitation to give classes to film students and share his filmmaking know-how with them.
This guest lectureship provides film students with a rare opportunity to participate in the pre-production of Jacquot’s upcoming feature film, Villa Amelia, which is slated to go into production in the spring of 2008, starring Isabelle Huppert. These work sessions will be included in a Making Of documentary of the film.
On Thursday November 8, Benoît Jacquot will also participate in a discussion with students from Columbia University, featuring a screening of his latest film The Untouchable.
