60th Locarno International Film Festival awards

The  Locarno Film Festival - 2007  closed its doors on August 11, honoring three french productions this year.

 Captain Ahab  by  Philippe Ramos , a Franco-Swedish co-production, picked up the prize for Best Direction as well as the International Critics’ Fipresci Award.

The Golden Leopard for Best Actor went to  Michel Piccoli for his performance in  Beneath the Rooftops of Paris  (Beneath the Rooftops of Paris) by Hiner Saleem, who also received a Special Mention from the Youth Jury.

The Franco-Algerian co-production  
Maison jaune (La)  by Amor Hakkar scooped both the Ecumenical Jury Prize and the FICC/IFFS (International Federation of Film Societies) Award.
