The French film "13 - Tzameti," directed by the French director of Georgian origin, Gela Babluani, was awarded the Jury Grand Prize for Best Foreign Fiction Film on Sunday, January 29, 2006, at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in the United States.
Gela Babluani’s first feature film, "13 - Tzameti" had already stood out at Venice in 2005, picking up the Lion of the Future/Best First Film award.
The film traces the story of Sébastien, a young man who, after responding to a strange summons, finds himself caught up in an underground world in which men gamble on the lives of others. Congratulations are due to its director and distributor, MK2, who will release the film in France on February 8.
