5 French films on the Croisette today!
In Competition:
The full creative crew from "Marie-Jo Et Ses Deux Amours" will be taking the stage tonight! The new film by Robert Guédiguian, produced by Patrick Sobelman for Agat Films & Cie (distributed by Diaphana, with foreign sales handled by Mercure), will be presented today at the Grand Théâtre Lumière at 8.30 a.m. and 6.45 p.m.
Also in competition is "Kedma", the latest feature by Amos Gita, who returns to Cannes this year for the third time (after "Kadosh" and Kippur"). "Kedma," an Israeli film co-produced by France and Italy (MP Productions, Arte) will be screened at 3 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Un Certain Regard:
"The Chinese Seamstress" ("Balzac Et La Petite Tailleuse Chinoise") will open the event at 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. Produced by Les Films de la Suane and France 3 Cinéma, the film by Dai Sijie is distributed in France by Bac Films, and by TF1 International abroad.
Directors' Fortnight:
The 34th Directors' Fortnight will open with the screening of two French productions. At 5 p.m., "Matir Moina" ("Claybird"), the debut film by Tareque Masud (France/ Bangladesh) will kick off the event, followed at 10 p.m. by "Sex Is Comedy," Catherine Breillat's latest film (produced by Flach Film, Cb films and Arte France Cinema).
