Just after picking up top honors at the world's largest film festival, Isabelle Huppert is to be awarded Best European Actress at Stuttgart.
The French actress, who recently took out the Best Actress award at the Cannes International Film Festival for her role in "The Piano Teacher", has another prize awaiting her. The Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg Film Festival, to be held from June 6 through 12 this year, will be awarding her Best European Actress, together with a check for 25,000 Deutsche marks (equivalent to around FFr84,000).
Festival organizers have asked the actress to choose four films to be screened during the event. They will be: "The Comedy of Innocence" by Raoul Ruiz, "Modern Life" by Laurence Ferreira Barbosa, "Loulou" by Maurice Pialat and "A Judgement in Stone" by Claude Chabrol. This year fifteen films will be presented in Competition, including "The Town is Quiet" by Robert Guédiguian.
