For its 33rd MyFrenchShort, Unifrance presents Snow in September, a short film by Mongolian director Lkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir, available to watch for free worldwide on YouTube until March 4, 2026 (except in the following territories: mainland France, Andorra, Monaco, French departments, and overseas territories).
Davka is a teenager who lives in the dilapidated Soviet apartment buildings of Ulaanbaatar. He and his classmate Anuka talk about manga and sex. When Davka meets an older woman, his view of intimacy and romantic relationships is forced to change.
Premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival (2022), where it won the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film, Snow in September was crowned Best International Short Film at TIFF a few weeks later.
Since this film, the filmmaker has directed the feature film City of Wind, and a new short, A South Facing Window, presented this year at the Locarno Film Festival.
