For the second year running, the French export company Other Angle Pictures offers the French Comedy Club, which will present four French comedies in Los Angeles on April 15 and 16.
Specializing for more than ten years in the comedy genre, Olivier Albou and Laurence Schonberg, at the head of the international sales company Other Angle Pictures, launched The French Comedy Club in 2022, a mini-festival of French comedies in the USA.
The exporters of two recent films that have each generated more than 50 millions views on Netflix (Pourris gâtés and Le Dernier Mercenaire), and with a slate of many other titles enjoying international remakes, the directors of Other Angle Pictures noted that comedies are virtually never shown in festivals and distributed even less in the United States, besides streaming on platforms.
Hence the decision to again present the French Comedy Club. The event will take place on April 15 and 17, 2023 at the Lumière Cinéma in Beverly Hills, where Los Angeles film professionals (buyers, agents, producers) and the general public can see four recent popular French comedies. The aim is to generate business relating to French comedies in general. These films are sold by different sales agents.
The four films presented:
- How to Survive Without Mum by Ludovic Bernard
- Alibi.com 2 by Philippe Lacheau
- Sweet Little Things by Mélanie Auffret
- Stay With Us by Gad Elmaleh
The event is supported by Villa Albertine and Unifrance, among other partners.
