The Brussels International Fantasy Film Festival and Unifrance will partner for the seventh edition of the BlF Market, via a call for applications focusing on four French genre projects.
The BIFFF, which will take place from April 11 through 23, 2023, will present more than 70 previews from all continents, more than a third of which are world, international, or European premieres, along with more than 100 short films.
During the BIF Market, four days are dedicated to a hybrid film market, focusing on genre cinema in the broadest sense: fantasy, science fiction, horror, thriller, heroic-fantasy, animation, surrealism.
The BIF Market is an essential meeting ground for all those working on a genre project. In addition to Belgian professionals, it facilitates meetings with many international professionals and representatives of various institutions and funds.
Four French projects will be selected to participate on site in the BIF Market. Hotel expenses (one room for five nights from April 17 through 21, 2023) are covered by the BIF Market and transportation expenses are covered by Unifrance up to a maximum of €300 per project.
To be eligible, the project must:
- be a feature
- be a genre film (horror, science-fiction, thriller, black comedy, aventure, etc.)
- include a teaser or promotions link
Priority for the on-site market is given to projects that already have secured financing, but all stages of development are eligible.
