Two French films have been nominated for the 62nd Golden Globe Awards, to be held January 16, 2005.
Traditionally ushering in the awards season in Hollywood, the Golden Globe awards are presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
French films are in a strong position in the Best Foreign Language Film category, with two contenders: "Chorists" by Christophe Barratier, starring Gérard Jugnot (the film is released as "The Chorus" in the USA), and "A Very Long Engagement" by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, starring Audrey "Amelie" Tautou.
These films will nonetheless be up against stiff competition from the other international titles in this category: "House of Flying Daggers" by Chinese director, Zhang Yimou, "The Motorcycle Diaries" by Brazilian director, Walter Salles, and "The Sea Inside" by Spanish director, Alejandro Amenabar.
