"The Lumière brothers, Marie-Antoinette, Gavroche, Carole Roussopoulos, and the MLF (Movement for Women's Liberation): for this new edition of MyFrenchFilmFestival, I chose to work with an animated fresco based on what lies at the heart of our stories and histories: characters. Our culture is filled with fictional and historical characters who are endlessly inspiring new stories and new encounters by exploring the riches of our imaginations. Giving a nod to the "technical" history of cinema, and to various symbols of French culture, I wanted to highlight this inexhaustible source of invention that is capable of creating amazing resonances, as seen in the new works presented at this 12th edition. So, make yourselves comfortable and come meet the women and men who just might change your lives!
In 2020, Marine Blin directed What Resonates in Silence, a short animated film that was presented at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and is shortlisted for the César Cinema Awards in 2022.
And for Advent calendar enthusiasts, follow our YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts to discover more animated images every day, along with hints about what awaits you in the upcoming festival.
