For the 23rd year running, UniFrance is organizing the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris (from January 13 to 15, 2021), the world's biggest film market and press junket dedicated exclusively to French films, in an almost entirely virtual format this year. More than 800 international buyers (distributors, VOD and TV buyers, and exhibitors) from 59 countries will take part in the event, which is more than double the number of participants last year, along with 44 French sales companies, and 144 foreign journalists (from 33 countries) and 90 actors and directors. Their meetings will focus on a total of 136 French productions and co-productions.

Due to the global pandemic, it was necessary to completely revise the format of this year's Rendez-Vous event, which will take place from January 13 to 15 mostly online, notably via the dedicated website https://rdvunifrance.com/, which, thanks to an exclusive partnership with Cinando, will give accredited participants access to the catalog of films presented and the film programs, as well as links to the profiles of all participants in order to facilitate the organization of meetings and interviews, as well as other exclusive content.
Film Market
The 2021 Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris will open physically with a number of screenings of films presented at the market organized in various European cities on Monday, January 11, and Tuesday, January 12.
The Day of Professional Meetings titled Beyond Borders 2021 - Export Meetings will be held on Tuesday, January 12. This event will be entirely devoted to the issues concerning the export of French films to foreign markets. All details about the day's program can be found here.
The Film Market will be officially opened on the evening of Tuesday, January 12, with an online screening of Délicieux by Eric Besnard. Following the opening, 67 films (including 31 premieres) will be presented to foreign buyers in the presence of 44 French sales companies.
A pitch session aimed at buyers, pre-recorded by the films' sales agents, will be broadcast on the morning of Wednesday, January 13.
Press junket
Around one hundred artists (actors and directors) from the French films that are planned for release around the world in 2021 will meet online with the 144 accredited international journalists during three days of interviews held via video conference. The interviews will be conducted from a prestigious Parisian hotel, with the styling of hair and makeup for the artists participating in the 2021 Rendez-Vous event provided by Parfums Givenchy - under the direction of Nicolas Degennes.
In 2020, 1329 interviews were conducted during the press junket.
As was the case last year, the official studio photograph for the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris will be taken by the photographer Philippe Quaisse.
