Juliette Binoche and Maïwenn will be celebrated during the 16th edition of the Zurich Film Festival, which will take place September 24 through October 2. This year, France is country of honor. Binoche will receive a Golden Icon Award for her acting career, while Maïwenn will being honored with a "Tribute to."
The 16th Festival du film de Zurich, which will award Juliette Binoche its most prestigious accolade, the Golden Icon Award, says "The Academy-Award winner stand as much of engaged auteur cinema as she does for high-end Hollywood entertainment." She will attend the festival to present her latest film How to be a Good Wife by Martin Provost.
With regards to Maïwenn, the festival emphasizes that it "honors the French director, producer and actress for her contribution to the resurgence of auteur cinema, and screen her directorial works in a retrospective." Maïwenn will receive the award on October 1 and will present her new film DNA.

France is the "guest country" of the sixteenth edition, where French works will shine in the New World View section. The festival states: "... we'll screen the works of a whole generation of young cineastes who portray a multi-cultural country with an impressive narrative urgency." Between twelve and fourteen films have been selected and their titles will be revealed on September 10.
