Following an investigation conducted by Médiapart and an interview broadcast on MédiapartLive, Unifrance wishes to express its full support to the actress Adèle Haenel in her allegations.
Adèle Haenel's testimony demonstrates her great courage to speak up after many years of silence and the absence of acknowledgement of her allegations at the time of the events.
UniFrance unequivocally condemns any act of violence and inappropriate behavior. Our association wishes to reiterate the fact that since French cinema stands out as one of the world's national movie industries with the highest visibility, film festivals and film markets have a duty to provide a safe environment in which the men and women working in this industry can practice their professions.
Serge Toubiana, president of UniFrance, and Daniela Elstner, our executive director, affirm that the association will continue to be particularly vigilant with regard to these issues, and announce the establishment of a charter in the near future applying to artists and other industry professionals who take part in events organized by, or initiated by, UniFrance.
Together, Toubiana and Elstner wish to express their great respect for Adèle Haenel and invite you all to make contact with UniFrance so that we can work together to find ways to ensure a working environment that is respectful of everyone.
