Now in its 21st year, UniFrance is organizing the 2019 Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris (January 17-21), the world's biggest film market and press junket dedicated exclusively to French films. More than 420 international buyers will be present this year, along with 45 sales companies, around 120 international journalists (from 32 countries), and over 100 French artists. Their meetings will focus on a grand total of 160 French productions and co-productions (film market + press junket).
As is the case each year, this major industry event will be held in Paris over five days and will bring together international distributors and exporters of French films, as well as film journalists from around the world and actors and directors from the films presented.
Film Market
The Film Market will open on the evening of January 17 with a special screening of Philippe de Chauveron's film Serial Bad Weddings 2, distributed by UGC and sold by Orange Studio, to be held in the presence of the director and key crew members.
Around 80 films will be shown to international buyers at this year's market, with 45 French sales companies in attendance.
Press Junket
Around 120 French artists (actors and directors) from French films that are planned for release in international markets in 2019 will take part in meetings with 120 accredited journalists from 32 countries around the world, with four action-packed days of interviews held in the center of Paris. Last year, just under 1,600 interviews were organized at this event.
The artists' hair and makeup will be provided by the official partners of the 2019 Rendez-Vous event: Givenchy—under the direction of Nicolas Degennes, for makeup, and Massato Paris for hair styling.
