Based in Paris and New York, the Le CiNéMa Club is a new online movie theater that presents a film free-of-charge every Sunday, which viewers can watch in just one click from anywhere in the world. This service celebrates high quality French and American independent filmmaking, but also has its eyes on filmmakers across the globe.
Placing the accent on emerging talents, Le CiNéMa Club showcases short, medium-length, and feature-length films made by up-and coming directors and established names.
Since the platform was launched in December 2015, it has already broadcast short films by Thomas Cailley, Guillaume Brac, Bertrand Bonello, Mati Diop, Christophe Honoré, Louis Garrel, and Alain Guiraudie, Yann Gonzalez, Antonin Peretjatko, Jean-Gabriel Périot, Virgil Vernier et Justine Triet, who have now become well-known filmmakers.
Each film screening is accompanied by an article on the director and the making of the film. The website also publishes lists of films recommended by directors, actors, and film enthusiasts, including Wes Anderson, Isabelle Huppert, Léa Seydoux, and Joachim Trier. Once a film has been screened, the website redirects interested viewers to a link via which they can watch or rent the film online.
The next French filmmaker to be highlighted will be Adrien Beau. If you wish to be kept up to date on film screenings at the Le CiNéMa Club, all you need to do is subscribe to its Newsletter or follow the Club on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
