The fall season gets off to a good start for the sales of short films on international markets.
After a few worrying signals last year – particularly the complete shutdown of transactions with Turner Internacional in Argentina and SBS in Australia – 2016 ends with encouraging news: two new markets are scheduled before the end of the year.
The Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio is organizing the first Torino Short Film Market from November 18 through 20. Distributors have until September 30 to submit their catalog. Over three days, meetings with international buyers for television and the Internet will take place in conjunction with the 34th Torino Film Festival.
For its twelfth edition, the Paris Courts Devant festival is planning to launch its own short film market; the renowned Parisian event will thus add another string to its bow.
The complete report about short market sales in 2015, collated by Unifrance, will be available this fall.
