A week out from the Rendez-vous – Nuovo cinema francese, French cinema thrives in Italy, where 3 recently launched films went straight into the top 10.
With €920,000 in revenues, Wolf Totem entered 2nd place at the local box office and was the most successful launch for a film by Jean-Jacques Annaud in this territory.
Meanwhile, The Bélier Family racked up €560,000 in revenues, and entered 5th place at the weekend box office. Lastly, The Connection is at 10th place, with €150,000 total revenues in this period.
This highly encouraging situation isn't entirely rare for French cinema in Italy: at the beginning of February, 2 other French titles were also among the Italian top 10, Mune and Serial (Bad) Weddings.
