The fifth edition of the world's first online French film festival, organized by Unifrance, will take place January 16 through February 16, 2015.
With a jury of international filmmakers, chaired by a French filmmaker (whose identity is yet to be revealed), MyFrenchFilmFestival is, as its title indicates, an entirely online French film festival, which offers internet users around the world the possibility of viewing a selection of 10 shorts and 10 debut or second features, released in theaters in France during 2014, and not yet released abroad. The films are available for viewing over a month. This initiative offers worldwide visibility for budding filmmakers and highlights the diversity of French production from newcomers to the scene. The festival, organized by Unifrance is available in 13 languages on the festival's website and on numerous VOD partner platforms. Last year, people from 210 countries accessed the site, generating 4 million viewings of French films (shorts and features) during the month the festival ran.
The film selection and jury members of the fifth edition will be announced on December 2, 2014, during a press conference organized with support from the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, and in the presence of Fleur Pellerin, Minister of Culture and Communication.
