5,000 moviegoers came out to attend the first edition of the Goddesses of French Cinema event in Shanghai—a promising start to this new event.
The mini-festival entitled Goddesses of French Cinema was held from September 12 through 21, 2014, in Shanghai, China. It showcased five films featuring some of the most famous female ambassadors of French cinema: Audrey Tautou in Coco Before Chanel, Emmanuelle Riva in Love, Catherine Deneuve in On My Way, Bérénice Béjo in The Past, and Judith El Zein and Valérie Benguigui in What's in a Name?
This event attracted 5,000 spectators at the Film Art Center in Shanghai, with screenings held in a 300-seat theater—a large venue for the inauguration of this brand new event. The result was highly encouraging, with exhibitors pleased with the turnout.
