Synopsis
The remarkable final 12 years in the life of 18th century English writer, philosopher and women’s rights advocate Mary Wollstonecraft. We’re in England on the eve of the French Revolution. A poor, young, solitary woman is carving out a path for herself, living by the ideals of the Enlightenment. Dismissed from her post as a governess, she resolves to live by her pen, against all odds. At 33, she publishes her inflammatory masterpiece, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. Months later, she sets sail for France, arriving in Paris at the height of the Terror.
