Within a Breach
Synopsis
In the heart of a war-torn forest, creatures live far from humans. In the shadows, they witness the rout of Gabin's squad. In a rare moment of respite, the young army doctor succumbs to despair after yet another defeat at the hands of death. With Mona, his sister-in-arms, Gabin confesses his need for rest, in memory of the ocean of their childhood. Away from his comrades, Gabin dozes in the thicket when he finds a shell offered by the creatures. Under the eyes of the forest, the conch's charms soothe Gabin's sorrows, before he plunges far from the world into a restful but deep sleep.
