Synopsis
Jim, a young pickpocket from the twenties, robs Joan, a young cabaret dancer. Pursued by a passer-by, Jim dashs off and takes refuge in a speakeasy, one of these numerous secret bars during the period of the prohibition.

Sixteen-year-old Diane exists exclusively through her mother's gaze. But this intensely close bond between Diane and her mother, Sophie, is becoming increasingly problematic for the teenager.
