L'Inconnue de Monte Carlo

L'Inconnue de Monte Carlo

A Feature film by André Berthomieu

Produced by Franco-London Films

Release in France : 26/01/1939

Vera, accomplice of clever cardsharp Messirian, falls in love with André, a playboy. Vera tries to dissuade Messirian from fleecing André's wealthy brother Georges. It's something of a dual regeneration: Vera turns honest, while André becomes a responsible member of society. The only person who doesn't come out the better for the experience is Messirian, who after being betrayed by everyone around him rather understandably blows his brains out.
