Synopsis
One Sunday in summer. The sirocco blows without let-up on Palermo when Rosa and Clara, on the way to celebrate a friend's wedding, get lost in the city and end up in a narrow alley: Via Castellana Bandiera. At the same time, a car driven by Samira, and crammed with the Calafiore family, arrives in the alley from the opposite direction.
Neither Rosa nor Samira, an old and stubborn woman, intend backing out of the alley. Locked in their cars, without food or drink, both women enter into a silent duel, their gazes filled with hate, neither of them willing to give in, or even to let themselves fall asleep. The duel continues into the night, into the following morning. They are more obstinate than the Palermo sun and tougher than the men surrounding them. Then, as is the case in any duel, it becomes a matter of life and death...
