Synopsis
1947. The partition of India and the creation of Pakistan. Umber Singh, a Sikh family man, is obliged to flee from his village, leaving everything behind him. His last hope is to have a son and heir. But his wife gives birth to a fourth daughter. Umber hence decides to change the fate of this child by raising her as a boy and by marrying off "him" to a young girl.
