The narrator recounts the love affairs of his youth in 1970s Paris. It's a tale of a turbulent sentimental education, an intimate story as much as it is the adventure of a generation. It's a film about the difficulty of loving. By mixing different neighborhoods of the city with fragments of letters, photos of young women, and period music, the film constructs a loving geography of Paris: that of the filmmaker, who, for fifteen years, experienced all the discoveries and excesses of his youth there.
In counterpoint, a few Super-8 images of journeys - the counterculture in the United States, and then the military dictatorship in Chile - remind us of just how things were back then.
