Synopsis
1932 in Lorraine, in a remote corner of Moselle. Here Tomas Bata, the man who wanted to provide shoes for the whole of humanity, decides to build a shoe factory and model workers' city. It will be known as Bataville.
A fable about obligatory happiness, the film presents the edifying story of an employer utopia and allows us to participate in a frightening and joyful adventure of paternalism.
