Carole, a young, pregnant woman, suffers strange hearing problems, noticing momentary and persistant ringing in her ears. Her husband gets held up on a film shoot and she finds herself alone in their new apartment. During the night, she hears strange and inexplicable noises. Initially, she is intrigued, but then quickly becomes obsessed by them. Anxiety takes hold of her life.
