"Environmental protection is a crucial issue in developing countries. In Guinea-Bissau, a country without technology or industry, natural resources are an essential richness. The relationship between man and the natural world goes way beyond simple economics. Whatever the current religious beliefs, our identity is founded on animist myths and traditions. Man lives in the natural world just as nature lives within him. This interdependance cannot be broken without creating a major imbalance. "Po Di Sangui" shows human beings living a passionate relationship with Nature , at the risk of losing their own identity. It's the tragedy of a community expelled from its forest and thrown onto the roads of exile and the desert. The film aims to provide a message of hope, a call to resistance. Will we be able to stop the runaway destruction of our forests ?"
