About
This debut feature brings a breath of fresh air to French cinema, starting with a cast of actors not usually seen on the screen who have some very nice surprises up their sleeves. Vincent Dietschy obviously likes actors and knows how to match them together, playing on their harmonies or dissonances. The film is full of strange faces and endearing characters, like François Chattot, with his English complexion that makes you think of Stephen Fry. In fact, the whole film has a faintly British flavor. It is of the same ilk as Kenneth Branagh’s comedies, with their brisk, playful way of knitting together the hopes and sorrows of dissimilar people. Thoroughly charming. (Marie-Noëlle Tranchant in “Le Figaroscope”)
