The Ring with a Crowned Eagle
Synopsis
Autumn 1944 and the Warsaw uprising is coming to an end. After 100 heroic days, the soldiers of the Interior Army (A.K.) lay down their arms. We see the last fighting as the German tanks crush the Polish rebels once and for all. The Red Army has not kept its promise to help them. The Soviets are waiting for the end of the agony on the East of Vistule. Most of the rebels are captured. Some of them manage to flee the ruined city with the rest of the population. Marcin (19), a young lieutenant, is seriously wounded. His unit has been dispersed. He is carried by two young nurses, Wiska and Janina. They try to merge with the mass of civilians preparing to leave Warsaw after the defeat. Ukranian soldiers arrive and Wiska appeals to one of them. He orders her to follow him...
