Honey Moon

Honey Moon

A Short film by François Breniaux

Produced by Les Films du Cygne

Production year : 2006

Synopsis

In the heart of an isolated village in rural Burgandy, Balthazar, a middle-aged man and Master Beekeeper, sees this crisp April evening as the ritual occasion to visit, for the nth time, Nanne, a pretty woman he's been courting since his youth, to ask her once again to marry him. Forty years have passed since that first time, which is the cause for so many memories, and which always takes place at this same moment in the year. The moment of the first honey gathering, the one that gives this man the noble title of "Master of the Bees", for he never comes empty-handed. This umpteenth visit would have seemed like all the rest, if something hadn't happened previously at Montfranc-Le-Haut, where a young man, Loulou, and his father, Louis, have arrived from Paris in search of their forgotten roots.
