When 9-year-old Yves-Marie asks Jacqueline, also 9, to marry him, she evades the question. “The day you go to the stars, I’ll give you my hand,” she replies. 24 years later, when Yves-Marie, now an astronaut, knocks on Jacqueline’s door, she is preparing to marry Vincent.
