Synopsis

Paul (25) and Hélène (18), kids from a hick town in the North, meet at a summer dance at Douai. As their love grows, so do their dreams of a better life become stronger. They take the big leap: armed with a gun, they break into the village branch of the bank where Paul has his account. They carry off all that they can lay their hands on: 40,000 francs and some change… They’ve got to run: heading south, to the sea. Once there, the party quickly comes to an end. Hélène has had enough of games, and tries to make Paul understand that sooner or later, the world will catch up with them. Paul refuses to listen…
