Synopsis

Morocco at the beginning of the 70s. Julia, a mother of two young girls (6-year-old Lucy and 8-year-old Bea) fleeing a failed marriage, decides to settle in Morocco with her children. Much courage and hope are needed for her to undertake the journey, but she refuses to settle for the life of a single mother in a cramped apartment in the London suburbs. In Morocco, Lucy and Bea discover a new world and are left to freely explore the colorful and exotic streets of the Medina. Daily life is a different matter for Julia, the mom-without-a-cent on a spiritual quest. When Bilal, a young Moroccan who’s part-time street acrobat, fortune-teller and mine worker, enters their lives they’re all bewitched. But all freedom has its price… and running away doesn’t solve everything. Or so Julia will learn on this journey of initiation which will lead her to find herself.
