Eight French productions and majority co-productions will be presented at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival sidebar Critics' Week.
In a Rush by Louis-Do de Lencquesaing will represent France in the feature film competition. This section also features two French co-productions among the seven titles selected: Beyond the Walls by David Lambert (minority co-production with Belgium and Canada) and God's Neighbors by Meni Yaesh (majority co-production with Israel).
Four French films are included in the short film competition: La Bifle by Jean-Baptiste Saurel, Ceci n'est pas un film de cow-boys by Benjamin Parent, Fleuve rouge, Song Hong by S. Lansaque and F. Leroyle, and Un dimanche matin by Damien Manivel.
Another two French feature films will be showcased in special screenings: actress Sandrine Bonnaire's second film, Maddened by his Absence, starring William Hurt, and Augustine by Alice Winocour starring Vincent Lindon and Chiara Mastroianni.
Led by a new artistic director, former chief editor of Les Cahiers du Cinéma Charles Tesson, the 51st Critics' Week will take place from May 17 through 25, 2012.
