A triumphant debut for "Bon Voyage" in the USA: released March 19, the film by Jean-Paul Rappeneau has raked in $100,000 at the box office in just 10 days.
After a majestic opening week in one New York theater ($41,228), the film's distributor, Sony Classics, released an additional 5 prints and registered an excellent average of $10,449 per theater in its second weekend.
This film looks set to be Rappeneau's third hit in a row in the United States after "Cyrano de Bergerac" and "Le Hussard sur le toit" ("The Horseman on the Roof"), which raked in $5.8 million and $1.3 million respectively at the time of their release.
