As is the case each year, the UK Film Council has just released a list of films that are to benefit from its Prints and Advertising support fund.
This year, the UK Film Councill is offering a sum of €4.56 million aimed at providing support to film distribution in the United Kingdom.
Three French productions feature among the twelve titles selected for funding support:
Entertainment One (UK), distributor of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's latest film Micmacs, received €114,000, which contributed to its publicity budget and assisted in releasing 10 additional prints of the film. Released in the UK on February 26 (on 85 prints), Micmacs attracted 35,000 moviegoers on its opening weekend.
Curzon benefited from support from this fund to assist two films slated for upcoming release: Lourdes by Jessica Hausner, which will hit theaters on April 30, was granted €5,400, while The Father of My Children by Mia Hansen Love was offered €5,600. This film was released in the UK on Friday, March 5.
