The Cannes Film Festival paid tribute Saturday, May 17 to producer Daniel Toscan du Plantier and director Maurice Pialat.
At a ceremony held at the Palais, Member of Parliament and Mayor of Cannes, Bernard Brochand, and his town council unveiled a plaque in tribute to Daniel Toscan du Plantier, in the presence of the producer’s close relations.
The Claude Debussy Theater welcomed numerous celebrities including Gérard Depardieu, Sandrine Bonnaire, Philippe Noiret and Jean Rochefort for an evening held in honor of the memory of Daniel Toscan du Plantier and Maurice Pialat, featuring a premiere screening of a documentary by Gilles Jacob as well as "Under Satan’s Sun" (Palme d’Or 1987).
