Off to a flying start in Taiwan, “Taxi 3” has clocked up more than 50,000 admissions on its opening weekend.
In a difficult market, dealt a heavy blow since the outbreak of the SARS epidemic in the country, the film by Gérard Krawczyk, released March 28 (with 53 prints in circulation) can pride itself on outscoring “Chicago”’s first weekend results, which was released two weeks earlier.
The film’s distributor, Spring, has high hopes for "Taxi 3," which may even put in a better performance than its two predecessors (with "Taxi 2" nonetheless attracting 130,000 spectators).
