To coincide with the 53rd Berlin International Film Festival, European Film Promotion (EFP) will celebrate the sixth edition of Shooting Stars.
19 actors and actresses from European countries will be presented to the international press, the movie industry and the public in a number of events during the first weekend of the festival (February 8-11). This year, France will be represented by Cécile de France.
To qualify for selection, the young actors and actresses must have either won an award for their recent work, or starred in a film which has reached a level of notable national or international success.
The following 19 up-and-coming actors and actresses have been selected as the 2003 Shooting Stars:
Leonor Baldaque (Portugal), Daniel Bruehl (Germany), Nina Dôgg Filippusdottir (Iceland), Cécile de France (France), Mona Fueter (Switzerland), Minna Haapkylä (Finland), Maria Hofstätter (Austria), Kristoffer Joner (Norway), Marilita Lambropoulou (Greece), Nikolaj Lie Kass (Denmark), Flora Montgomery (Ireland), Szonia Oroszlan (Hungary), Torkel Petersson (Sweden), Libero Di Rienzo (Italy), Matthias Schoenart (Belgium), Daan Schuurmans (the Netherlands), Jamie Sives (Great Britain), Goya Toledo (Spain) and Tatiana Vilhelmova (Czech Republic).
